Ignacio Kleiman
Managing Partner

Prior to forming Antarctica, Mr. Kleiman served as Chief Executive Officer of Glacier Securities, a New York-based financial advisory firm specializing in the Seafood Industry, a subsidiary of Islandsbanki hf (successor of Iceland’s Glitnir Bank). Mr. Kleiman has over 25 years of experience in the financial industry. Having started his career at JP Morgan in 1991 in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group, Mr. Kleiman spent more than 10 years at Bankers Trust and subsequently, at Deutsche Bank in their Investment Banking and Private Equity areas. He then spent an additional 6 years at Rabobank International, as a Managing Director in its Mergers and Acquisitions Department in New York serving clients in the Food Industry, both in the U.S. and overseas. In early 2007, Mr. Kleiman played a leading role in establishing the New York office for Glitnir Bank, focusing on M&A and financing in the Seafood Industry. In 2013, Mr. Kleiman and a team of investment banking professionals formed Antarctica Advisors, a firm focused on providing strategic and financial advisory services to corporate clients in the Food Industry. Mr. Kleiman holds an I.B. with Honors from Pearson College (UWC Canada), a B.A. in Engineering Science and International Economics from Dartmouth College, as well as an M.B.A in International Finance from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business, all of which he attended on full academic scholarship. He is fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian. As an industry reference, he has been interviewed by different media outlets including Bloomberg Radio, Mergers & Acquisitions Magazine, the Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, The Deal, M&A Advisor, Seafood .com, IntraFish and Undercurrent News, among others. He was awarded the “DEAL MAKER OF THE YEAR” distinction by Finance Monthly magazine (December 2015) and his firm named “MOST PROLIFIC M&A ADVISOR IN THE SEAFOOD INDUSTRY” by Undercurrent News (July 2017)
 
Freyr Thordarson

Freyr joined DNB bank of Norway in August 2018 as a Senior VP, responsible for the banks North American seafood and fisheries relationships, eventually to be stationed in NYC from late 2019 and onwards. Currently working out of Oslo, both on NA relationships as well as on European ones.  He has worked within the Financial Services Industry since early 2001. Starting out as an analyst with a small VC firm, and subsequently joining a small investment bank in Iceland, serving in various roles and finally as Head of Debt Finance in the banks London office. Serving in different Investment- and Corporate banking roles in Iceland 2007 until early 2009, when he started managing work-out assets in the Nordic portfolio of the distressed Kaupþing, on behalf of the Winding up Committee, during Kaupthing’s moratorium. In the years 2013-2018, before accepting the role with DNB, he proudly served as the MD and head of the Corporate Bank at Arion Bank. At Arion Bank he was responsible for the teams managing the Large Corporates loan portfolio, and a significant portion of the banks' profits.

Drew Cherry is the Editor-in-Chief of IntraFish Media, the world's largest seafood news and information provider. Cherry was born and raised in Alaska, and holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Davis, and a Master’s in Professional Writing from the University of Southern California.
 
Kristoffer Jordheim
Partner, Investment Banking - Seafood
Pareto Securities
Mr. Jordheim is part of the seafood team in Pareto Securities’ Investment Banking division. He spends all his time working on financials transactions in the seafood industry, both domestically and internationally. He has extensive experience from various type of M&A, equity capital markets and debt capital markets transactions. In total, he has twelve years experience in investment banking. Prior to joining Pareto Securities in 2014, he spent seven years in SEB and two years in DNB. Kristoffer started his carrier as an equity analyst. He holds an MSc degree in finance from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). In addition, he spent two years in the Norwegian Navy, including an officer’s degree from the Royal Norwegian Navy Officer Candidate School.
 
Anne-Kristine Øen

Salmon Group
Anne-Kristine Øen joined Salmon Group in 2017. Her whole career has been focused around ocean industries. She has broad communication and management experience from global shipping and -fish farming industries, having worked for listed companies such as Odfjell, Grieg and Marine Harvest. Anne is born and bred in Bergen, where she is also based today. She holds an MSc Econs degree in Marine Policy from London School of Economics.
 
Thomas Bakke

Before co-founding Seafood People Thomas worked for 7.5 years as Commercial Director for the world’s leading seafood news and information provider – IntraFish Media. He has provided hiring and recruitment assistance to a number of seafood companies across the world, and in different sectors of the industry.
