Thor Hukkelås Director Aquaculture R&D Kongsberg Maritime Graduated from Institute of Engineering Cybernetics at NTH (now NTNU) in 1976 and holds to-day a position as Director Business Development Aquaculture at Kongsberg Maritime. Thor has more than 40 years of experience in designing and leading large software intensive R&D programmes. The Guidance, Navigation & Control systems developed has been for the military and the offshore oil & gas market, including autonomous systems (air and sea) and especially Dynamic Positioning (DP) systems for ships. He has a strong engagement for the oceans and emphasise that aquaculture = biology + technology. He now works with the development of the next generation of sustainable open ocean aquaculture systems as demonstrated by Ocean Farm 1. He strongly believes in applying the “cybernetical approach” for developing good control and decision support systems and to focus on “how to maintain the human (and the fish) in the loop”. | |

He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School in New York and a degree in Economics and Business Administration (siviløkonom) from the Norwegian School of Economics.
