Mikel Durham
CEO
American Seafoods
Mikel has served as CEO of American Seafoods since 2017. Before she joined the world of fishing and seafood, she had a series of roles leading consumer food businesses- in retail branded, foodservice, and in-store bakery channels. Her prior leadership roles were with PepsiCo, CSM Bakery Solutions, Cadbury Schweppes and Diageo, and based in Spain, the UK, and various parts of the US. Prior to becoming a ‘foodie’, she was with Bain and Company based out of the UK, Australia and then Russia. Her educational degrees include a BA in Economics from Smith College and an MBA from Harvard. Mikel also serves on the Board of Tyson Foods, Inc. Finally, but most importantly, Mikel also works for two teenagers, one Australian Shepherd, two cats and two bunnies.
 
Ignacio Kleiman

Ignacio J. Kleiman is the Managing Partner and founding member of Antarctica. Prior to forming Antarctica, Mr. Kleiman served as Chief Executive Officer of Glacier Securities, a New York-based financial advisory firm specializing in the Seafood Industry, a subsidiary of Islandsbanki hf (successor of Iceland’s Glitnir Bank). Mr. Kleiman has over 25 years of experience in the financial industry. Having started his career at JP Morgan in 1991 in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group, Mr. Kleiman spent more than 10 years at Bankers Trust and subsequently, at Deutsche Bank in their Investment Banking and Private Equity areas. He then spent an additional 6 years at Rabobank International, as a Managing Director in its Mergers and Acquisitions Department in New York serving clients in the Food Industry, both in the U.S. and overseas. In early 2007, Mr. Kleiman played a leading role in establishing the New York office for Glitnir Bank, focusing on M&A and financing in the Seafood Industry.
 
Ian Smith

Clearwater Seafoods
Ian D. Smith is the Chief Executive Officer of Clearwater Seafoods. Mr. Smith joined Clearwater in May 2010 with over 30 years of international experience in the food and consumer products industry. Prior to joining Clearwater, Mr. Smith held senior leadership positions at the Campbell Soup Company within Canada, the United States and China. Prior to his time at Campbell’s, Mr. Smith held various marketing, sales and international business development positions with Allergan, Colgate-Palmolive and the Gillette Company. Mr. Smith participates on a number of boards and advisory groups focused on international trade and public policy. He is a graduate of McGill University (BA Economics, MBA) and a former Captain in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserve.
 
Alexander Aukner

Alexander Aukner joined DNB Markets in 2013 after 8 years as analyst/portfolio manager in a Long/Short Equity Hedge Fund. Seafood is viewed as a core area for DNB Bank and is included in the Banks’s ‘Ocean Cluster’. No 1. ranked seafood analyst by Prospera and financial magazine Kapital in 2019 as well as StarMine’s 2015 Nordic stock picker of the year. Alexander covers most of the stock listed salmon companies, including but not limited to Mowi, SalMar, Lerøy Seafood, Bakkafrost and Atlantic Sapphire.
 
Anne Hvistendahl

Anne Hvistendahl has been heading seafood globally in DNB for the last eight years. Prior to that she has held a number of different positions in DNB related to large corporates. DNB is the world’s largest seafood bank with an exposure of around 6 bill USD. DNB’s most important seafood offices are located in Santiago, New York, London, Copenhagen, Warsaw - and in Norway. The bank holds strong positions in Chile, Peru, Canada, USA, UK, Iceland, Faroes, and Norway. DNB is headquarted in Oslo, which is also the home of the world’s largest seafood stock exchange (OSE).

Drew Cherry is the Editor-in-Chief of IntraFish Media, the world's largest seafood news and information provider. Cherry was born and raised in Alaska, and holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Davis, and a Master’s in Professional Writing from the University of Southern California.
 
Roger Berkowitz

Roger started working in the family fish market in Inman Square, Cambridge at the age of 10 and held a variety of roles prior to becoming President and CEO in 1992. Since taking the helm, he’s led the company’s growth and diversification. He now oversees restaurant, retail and mail order divisions and steers the course for 4,000 employees. Roger is currently a member of NOAA’s Marine Fisheries Advisory Committee and the Regional Selection Panel for the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships. He was a member of the Board of Directors for the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and the Massachusetts Workforce Training Fund Advisory Committee. He is also a member and past President of the Massachusetts Restaurant Association. In addition, Roger serves on many non-profit Boards including: Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, UNICEF and the Environmental League of Massachusetts. He also serves on the leadership council at the Harvard School of Public Health. Roger graduated from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University and attended executive education programs at Harvard Business School, University of London School of Business and Stanford Graduate School of Business. He holds an honorary master’s degree from the Culinary Institute of America and honorary doctorates from Johnson & Wales University, Newbury College, Salem State University, Nichols College and New England College of Business. Among numerous awards and recognitions, Roger was named a James Beard Award winner in 2017, received the “Chairman’s Award for Distinguished Meritorious Service” from the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission and was inducted into the “Menu Masters Hall of Fame” by Nation’s Restaurant News. He was also the recipient of the George Arents Award, which recognizes Syracuse University alumni for their achievements. Roger is the co-host of “Name Brands,” a podcast series with CBS Boston and he co-wrote “The New Legal Sea Foods Cookbook.” He was featured in the books “Dare to Lead! Uncommon Sense and Unconventional Wisdom from 50 Top CEOs” by Mike Merrill and “Leadership Secrets of the World’s Most Successful CEOs” by Eric Yaverbaum.
 
Thor Talseth

Neptune NRCP LLC was founded in 2019 by Thor Talseth. As a former senior executive of public and private aquaculture and agriculture businesses, Thor brings a hands-on approach to investing in and adding value to portfolio companies. Thor was previously the Head of Private Equity at AMERRA Capital Management and a voting member of its investment committee. Prior to joining AMERRA in 2015, Thor was founding partner of an investment management and advisory company focused on the international seafood and aquaculture industry. Thor has more than 20 years’ experience in the international seafood and aquaculture industry as an investor, senior executive and as a sector- focused banker. He was previously Head of Seafood (Corporate Finance) at Arctic Securities, Executive Chairman of a public marine biotech company, Managing Director & Country Manager of Landsbanki Norway and CEO of OTC-listed international aquaculture company. Thor has also been a speaker and organizer of industry-focused investor conferences in New York, Chicago, London, Oslo, Hong Kong and Singapore.
